I spent the day locked inside my new S4! I drove it back from Chicago to Philly...820 miles, 14 hours with stops. Oddly, I'm not really exhausted, but I can say, Indiana, Ohio, and Pennsylvania Interstates probably offer the least interesting scenery on the entire east coast. I'm glad to finally be out of the S, but I do love her! Very different from my A4...about the only thing the two cars have in common is the shape. The engine, transmission, and the feel are totally different (btw, Michelin Pilot Sports suck, my SP9000's feel like they offer more grip!).
My day passed with only one little incident...low oil light came on in East Tim-Buk-Too Ohio. No service area around for miles (and shame on me for not checking this before the trip). I drove about 30 miles to the next rest area, watching the temp gauge like a hawk. I fed her a full quart of oil before the oil was in the right range, scratched my head, then called the previous owner. Last oil change she got 6 qts, revised oil cap chart says she needs 6.9 qts, manual incorrectly states 6.3 qts. That accounts for my missing quart!
Before I get on with the pics, I would like to say "thanks" to the Chicago area folks! It was great to finally meet all of you! Special thanks to Matt (food, toll, and gas money for me to get home! :-P), Mark B (for loaning me his parking garage space, while his A4 sat out in the street), Sameer (for loaning me his couch Friday night, for bringing me to MotoPersona (NICE shop BTW), and for lunch Saturday), and finally, ss4 (Joel - for selling me his pampered S4).
Here are some pics I took around sunset when I pulled over for a little break.

In Indiana a black camaro passed me doing about 90. I decided not to play. 2 hours later, well into Ohio, I passed him. Poor guy was explaining the whole mullet thing to the patrolman. Wonder how that went?

19 hours 38 minutes. Left at noon, reached my bed at about 8am and passed out for a day. Only thing is my oil light didn't come on

Raj,
Congrats on the "new" car. Looks great! When do I get a ride in it?
The Celebration wheels looks sweet! I like them much better than the Avus wheels. Good going there!
Yeah, your SP9000s are quite good! I've been driving on them the past few days and I am duly impressed. Perhaps even stickier than my RE730s!
Nonetheless, the S03s are getting installed tomorrow.
Cheers,
Peter

I don't want to drive the A4 anymore, since it's up for sale. I'll take the S to Avantfest, but if I don't have new tags and paperwork in hand, then I'll skip the drive and show up at the BBQ. I borrowed Joel's plates, just so I could get the car back here.
