Not.
This is the carnage from yesterday's BPV swap. Don't ask, and I won't tell.
And don't worry, I had PLENTY of hose left to install the other one.
I feel a definite improvement in throttle response and boost response, and the new valve has solved surging and hanging RPMs. There is, however, one slight glitch I'm concerned about. With the stock valve, I had a lazy style of shifting; I had to purposely shift slowly in order to wait for the RPMs to come down. With the new valve, I find that if I shift lackadaisically, there is a very slight jolt when I left off the throttle and hit the clutch. It seems like the BPV is closing very quickly and suddenly, cutting off boost or power. Any ideas what this may be? I had made sure that the hose clamps were tightened very well.
With the hanging RPMs no longer happening, I find that I can shift rather quickly through the gears. So in this regard, when I make a quick shift, I do not get the slight jolt. It seems like there is a certain combination of timing between the throttle and clutch that doesn't result in a slight jolt/clunk. Is this because I'm not used to the improved throttle response, so I need to readjust my shifting style? Or is there something wrong here?

I switched to the Turbo XS BPV for all the same reasons you did (except the "hanging" rpm) and defintly felt the whole system is tighter. It took a couple of days, but you too will will get used to it
