Default The revised one too?

I'm assuming they did give you one eventually? Still no good?

Mine seems to be holding up OK, touch wood.

Default Yep, that's how they get around Audi dealers here...

since they can't give you a spare ECU to swap for dealer visits (immobilizer issues), they let you reflash your OEM ECU before every visit. But warranty period here isn't all that long anyway, so it's less of an issue.

How much warranty does VW/Audi give in Ireland? It's only 2 years here, and even that is a pretty recent development. It used to be 1 year just a few years back.

Default Email from DSR...Long and not much help

From GIAC:

Hi,

We now have a 3D model of our solder-less switcher. We will email out the
picture tonight. The hardware [pcb's- the prototype works] inside the
cable is being finished as we speak. ETA ~4-6weeks for public sale [beta -
will be sooner].

With all 99.5-2004.5 drive-by-wire VAG cars - NA
[R32/vr6/v6/4.2/3.0]/1.8T we will offer this option as fast as we can
write and test the programs.

The GIAC Handheld Flashloader works like a standalone PC that gets power
from the OBD2 port. It can talk with the chip via a proprietary GIAC
language - bidirectionally [unique to GIAC chip programming].

It unlike competition, you can even read out, REAL-TIME, the current switch
mode [make sure you are in XR etc..] . Also you can switch on the
fly. Once switched [done in ~ 4 sec] the ECU remembers the switch position
even without the GIAC Handheld Flashloader attached.

This is compatible with both our flashloader and socketing technology.

Keypad Buttons:

Read - reads the current mode
Stock - switches to stock maps/rev.,etc..
Pump - switches to GIAC Pump Gas mode
Race - switches to GIAC Race Gas mode
Valet - 4000 rpm rev limit, lower power output.
Kill - Kill mode- active only if the RPM are less than 700.

MT01 - reserved - Boost controller?
MT02 - reserved - Boost controller?
MT03 - reserved - Boost controller?

more on this later.

thanks,
Garrett

Default Warrenty sucks over here man...

You have to pay for servicing etc...just about everything...

Warrenty used to just 12 months here...I think its about 2 years at the moment...
