Default ipod problem....

I have my ipod hooked up in my 96 with a cassette adapter plugged into the belkin car charger. Every now and then sound only comes out of the passenger side, but when I put in a regular cassette it works from both sides. when I put headphones in the belkin amp thing it works on both sides. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Default sounds like you did all the debugging work but failed to think the logic through...

you basically eliminated everything BUT the cassette adapter... so... the culprit is likely.. ?

Default Re: ipod problem....Solution

Hit the autoreverse, or flip the cassette over. The 2 heads have to match the cassette. If they misalign then only one side works (left aligns with the right, or visa versa.)

Solution.
Exchange your delta deck with a Concert, get a Blitzsafe V 1.B Aux Adapter and use the line in.
Then you will realize how much cassette adapters suck.

Default there's a cheaper solution --> jeff bipes cd changer adapters

although he is currently not making any, he has models for 8 and 13 pin cd changers. Hell of a lot easier than swapping from delta to concert.

Default better performance than a direct line-in? are you smoking crack?

FM modulators suck. I pulled the cd changer in my old jetta because it was an fm. You can't seriously think an fm modulator sounds cleaner than a cd changer adapter. That's like saying the radio has higher fidelity than the cd changer. If you actually think what you posted you need to listen and decide for yourself. My adapter sounds very clean and even makes the little 6.5s in the deck hit without any static. I really hope you were joking but it doesn't sound like you were.
