Default irritating chatter at lower rpms

It sounds like some sort of valve problem
I stfa'd, but not much help: only thing I could come up with was possibly the cam chain tensioner

I change the oil every 2 to 3 k miles with synthetic usually 5 w20 or 30 right now its just started geting cold here in Va so I switched to 0 w40

its been going on for a while now, but I just cant take this damn noise anymore, Im afraid something is going to break

Default Yeesh, I hope that 5W-20 was a typo. WAY too thin....

I'd try changing the oil for M1 5W-40 or 15W-50 and see if the noise goes away.

Default high gear 3+ and between 1.5K-2K rpm? And especially when you step on the gas, right?

If you have the symptoms I have asked about above, we have the same problem. I'll take it to the dealership when my sunroof starts to get stuck again. (The button is dying.)
I have an APR chip and am using dealer recomended synthetic oil.
And aren't we supposed to change synthetic oil evey 10K miles rather than 3K?

Default Could be the Bearings on your Power Steering pump. Mine just blew and had rattling noises before.

How's your steering?

Getting tighter?

Groaning?

Just a thought.

Default mine gets that on a cold start if i don't let it warm up a lil, and i turn the wheel real...........

hard to either side, it's fine the rest of the time tho, no problems. i just hear that crackling sound in the begining. recently had a rack failure. should i be worried about the pump killing my new rack?

thats funny, everyone Ive talked to has said the opposite including several friends who are mechanics. They seem to think its a vavle problem because the oil is too thick. Im doing an engine flush this weekend; so Ill definitely try some thicker oil afterwards. This noise is really pissing me off, it makes the car sound like dilapidated american piece of crap.

btw the ower on my can has been down lately could it be related to this? One of my friends who works for a chrysler dealership keeps talking **** about how fast an srt4 is and how he thinks it could beat an audi. My car weighs around 2900 lbs and its got an apr chip n75j efk underdrive 2.5" exhaus and various other things that would take too long to mention. I know my car should be faster but right now its slower than when I had just gotten it and had it chipped. THus the whole audi is slow bull****

No, not 15w50! 0w40 or 5w40... My engine makes less noise with amsoil 5w40.
