Its annoying to be told to replace the spark plugs everytime my car has a problem -- well guess what

So I've been experiencing a miss between 2200 and 3500 RPM lately. No CEL or DTCs would pop to help me out so I took my VAG-com and looked at the other usual suspects. Fuel trims looked good, timing looked good, MAF readings were dead on and there were no boost leaks so I was stumped. Finally I broke down and pulled the plugs and behold they were worn with gaps measuring from 0.035" to 0.038". Tossed them and put new ones in and solved the problem for $8.
So why didn't I suspect the plugs sooner? Because they only had 15,000 miles on them and despite regularly replacing spark plugs as part of maintenance I have never actually resolved an issue with my car by replacing them.
Oh well, lesson learned, now does anyone have a fork so I can eat my humble pie?
