It's finally it's summer in the northeast!! Now I have an A/C question..

When the temperature is 85+ outside, I noticed that I have to set the air to recirculate inorder to really cool the cabin temperature to the 70 I have set it to and the fan speed to eventually decrease. If I don't re-circuilate the air, the it does not get quite cool enough and the fan always stays fairly high.
Is this the normal operation, or is some AC service necessary to increase performance? I just don't remember having to do this last summer.

it still can't seem to keep up, it starts to get warmer and the fan speed starts to increase! I guess once the outside air is hot beyond a point, the A/C will not be able to cool it sufficiently.

Back when I had a Jetta III, the guys at the dealership recommended that I keep the recirc button engaged all the time with my A/C.
