It's a thunk but I don't think it's the control arms

I have a thunk sound coming from the steering, braking or suspension. It occurs when going over any imperfections but can also happen after I have been driving, am parked and depress the brakes. This morning, I looked at the control arms and they all look solid. The CV boots look very good. Any ideas?

just got mine back fromthe shop for the same symptoms.....mine was worn out steel tie rod ends.....they had some play in them. Also check your sway bar links. One of mine was also bad.......living in a city realy wears out the suspensions on the early cars.

the sway bar end links are verry common!
check all ball joints and tie rods anymovement att all and replace !
even at 20,000 the upper ball joints will be loose
remember the suspension must be supported in the right position for checking upper and lower quadra-link suspension
