Cheaper isn't exactly as it appears. Add in the PES high flow cat (which is included in the APR kit)
and you are talking another ~400-450. Add in the ~50 worth of spark plugs provided by APR and the two kits are still pretty close in price.
... but I will be doing a Juan clutch this summer.

Sounds like a design that was used to make a customer use only what they supply.
So people like being able put on a kit that lets them run a stock cat just in case they need to take it to the dealer or have a smog problem.
