I've read that many people with aftermarket suspension get noise from rear. Is this common?

Default I've read that many people with aftermarket suspension get noise from rear. Is this common?

I'm thinking of getting an aftermarket suspension. But I've read that quite a few people are getting a noise from the rear suspension most likely caused by the spring. My questions are:

How many of you experienced this?
Did the noise go away?
What kind of setup are you running?

I had a similar problem with Eibachs on my last car but the noise seemed to go away once the suspension settled down. Mind you, it settled a lot and the ride just got real annoying. I'm thinking of getting H&R Sports or Neuspeed Sports or Eurosports with Koni's or Bilsteins for my A4.

TIA!!

Default Most of the reports I've read on this have been from people who run Neuspeed springs...

and I think the problem is described as "coil bind"

Default Minor noise with H&R Sport/Bilstein setup.....

....it has diminished as the miles have been put on. I only notice it occasionally now with the radio off at slow speeds. Small price to pay for the better suspension, IMHO.

Default I had noises with my stock non-sport and now I have noises with my HR coilovers...

Actually, I think that the noise was worse with the stock setup. Like some others posted, it is seeming to go away now that I have had the HR's on for a while.

If the noise is your concern I'd say go for it anyway. Basically the noises I heard were barely noticable and it is not like you hear it every time you stop. It is only sometimes and it'll probably go away.

Default There have been coil binding noises w/ Neu. and also squeeking from bushings..I have both

but the squeeking is not noticible. Only an occasionaly Sprong! noise of coil binding when I am really articulating the suspension like making a tight turn into a high driveway or somethign. Some people have lubed their springs...It happens so infrequently I'm not concerned.
