Is it as simple as pulling a fuse? Winter autox on Sunday and I want the brakes to obey the pedal.

Pull whatever fuse is related to is, then test it out. My guess is that when you pull the fuse the ABS not happy light will come on, which should be your indicator that the ABS has been disabled.

Didn't work. ABS was disabled but car would not start. If pulled while car is running it dies. SOL

Default Check your book to see if your pulling the right fuse for the ABS.

Sounds like your pulling a fuse that powers up something that keeps your car running right, like the ECU.

It is the right one. When I pull it the brake warning comes on.

Default What year is your car? Because they pulled the harness off my abs system on a dynopak dyno

and the car ran fine, I have also seen someone pull the fuse out too and it ran fine.

Default Year 2000. I checked the manual and fuse 7 was the only one referencing ABS. I considered...

disconnecting this.

But I thought it would probably disable the braking entirely.

Default I have a 2001 and ...

I took out fuse #7 like the manual says (is abs) and the car wouldn't start. HOWEVER! I found 2 more fuses in the manual (which I will try today) that are also connected to ABS.

Fuse #7 = Anti-lock brake system (10 amps)
Fuse #16 = ABS + Anti-Slip Regulation (ASR) (5 amps)
Fuse #41 = Anti-lock brake system (25 amps)

I will try these out later today.<ul><li><a href="http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&amp;item=2400649772&amp;ssP ageName=ADME:B:LC:MT:1">Oettinger Rear Spoiler For Sale on Ebay</a></li></ul>

Quick Reply: I've searched but I can't find a real answer. Can you disable ABS?
