JE campaign: who pays for repairs; also control arm questions
A quick question about the JE campaign ... I know that the purpose of it is to inspect the lower control arms, but what happens if they find damage? Do they then replace them with no charge to owner, or are they just alerting you to the problem, and you get to then fix at your own expense? Assume out of warranty, of course.
I ask because I recently had to have all four of my upper control arms replaced, and I'm wondering if the lower arms are bad too. (the independent shop said they couldn't see the lower arms, although I don't understand how that could be) I know the JE campaign expires in March, so I'll bring the car in pronto if I know that they'll pay for the repairs if needed.
Finally, could bad lower arms accelerate the wear on the upper arms?
