It was great to meet all of you from the Seattle Audi club that showed up. I had a really great time, and the track was far nicer than Second Creek in Colorado. It was an added bonus that everyone was so nice off the track AND incredibly mature on the track. It was obvious that I had the least amount of experience out of all of you, but by the end of the day I felt really comfortable out there nonetheless.
For those of you who didn't make it, along with the Audis we had the following track-mates for the day:
2001 Porsche C4
2001 BMW E46 M3
199? BMW E36 M3 (heavily track-prepped)
199? Ferrari F355 (F348?) Spyder
199? Lotus Elise (heavily track-prepped)
And the coolest car of the day was a REAL 2001 Porsche GT3!!! These aren't even available in the States, the guy had to go through a year's worth of paperwork to get it, but MAN was it beautiful. Black with black leather... and could it MOVE around the track! Sweet sweet car. Mine, of course, is better because I have Xenons and I can carry passengers... RIiiiiiiigghht. :P
There was also an S8 (tiptronic) and a slew of nice S4s (was ANYone stock?) and I think DeepBlue and I had the ONLY A4s there. The two guys in the GTIs did a great job of hustling those cars out there.
I learned a ton yesterday and feel more comfortable behind the wheel of my car than I ever did before. I can't wait for the next event; maybe I'll see some of you at the QCUSA event in Portland next month. JoshD, BenM, DeepBlue, leslie and the rest of you whose names I have rudely forgotten, I look forward to seeing you all at future meetings. Finally, BIG thanks to JoshD for organizing everything! Happy Motoring, everyone!
