Just finished installing my portable MiniDisc player (x-post from Audio forum)...

I've been meaning to do this project for a long time, but finally got around to it this weekend. I have a Panasonic SJ-MR200 portable MiniDisc player/recorder that fits really well in the ashtray of my A4. Here is a little info on how I did it:
First, I hacked into the analog line-ins coming from my CD changer:

This allowed me to install an input selector switch (temporarily located under the dash on the passenger's side until I find a better place) to switch between the CD changer and the MD unit. I just soldered on some RCA cables and ran them to the switch.
Next, I got out my dremel tool; I had to remove a small amount of plastic at the back of the ashtray to feed in the power and remote LCD unit. I didn't take any pictures of that but if anyone wants them, just let me know. I ran power from near the fusebox, ran the wired LCD remote to the top of the console area, and that's it!
Here is a picture of the center console...you can see the LCD unit at the top and the main MD player in the ashtray:
