Default Don't argue with the German engineers

since they made the cylinder walls of the 2.8L thicker to handle the turbo charging and ended up with the 2.7L biturbo. Apparently they where worried about a problem with just putting a turbo on the 2.8L so maybe you should be as well. Just get a 2.7t, chip and exhaust and be done with it.

But yet there are people out there running 2.7t blocks that have bored out the block and running very high amounts off boost. So just because Audi went with a smaller bore to make the walls thicker on the 2.7t doesn't mean much at all.

Funny thing is everyone told me I was nuts for going 83.5mm bore on my 1.8t block way back in 2003. But yet it is still holding up just fine even pushing boost levels of 37+psi and over 800chp. Looking forward to throwing 45psi at it soon enough.

nnice would love to see a video. but I really dont want to go turbo, since I already have a wrx. so a built 2.8L 30v NON TURBO all NA would be awesome.

Since you already have a WRX I think leaving the 2.8 stock would be totally awesome.
Not only totally awesome but get this, even practical.

no a built 2.8L would be more awesome. because I can do thing I will, I know that there are other people that cant do these kind of things but I can, I dont make tons of money but I dont owe bills. plus thats why im buying a 78 nissan 280z, keeping it all stock and for pure show.

wait what... I dont see how that makes sense.. they made the walls of the 2.8L thicker to handle the turbocharging.... but ended up with a 2.7?..

so wouldnt thicker walls be a advantage? less prone to cracking?
either way I dont want to turbocharge it, but you kinda just said something rediculous?

5v/cyl could have said it differently, but the 2.7 has a smaller bore than the 2.8, and if the casting is otherwise the same, the cylinder wall will be therefore be thicker.

yea he kinda lost me there how he worded it hahahhahaha but as stated above people bore out the 2.7t anyways. so would it not be easier to build a 2.8 if your going all out anyways? if your building a motor you can buy piston with lower CR, pretty much be the same thing but with a tiny bit more displacement?

Im not trying to start a arguement or anything at all cause I dont care about turbocharging the 2.8 haha
