I took my 00 A4 in to get the control arms checked out because they are sqeaking. This promblem has been addressed several times on the forums so i know its not just my A4. The service manager told me it was my H&R springs not the control arms. He also added that it has not been a promblem on the A4's. The only way they will fix promblem is if car is returned to stock ride height and the sqeaking is still there. What kind of B.S is that crap. The guy was a major ******* and had no idea what he was talking about. To top it all of i get a Geo metro as a rental car. You would think when you dump 30K on a car they would at least treat you with a little respect. If anybody knows of a good Audi dealership in So. Ca with a good service reputation please let me know. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH COMMONWEALTH AUDI you will regret it. I hate to bitch but i am pissed.

...they chip their cars and do ABT performance kits and suspension mods on some cars they sell. There was a bad *** white A6 2.7T there last week slammed to the ground with abt wheels and springs. I guess it was the pimpin' package.
WIN A BOTTLE OF LANGKA

Right on. I hear ya. For $30k I expect some real service not a bunch of B/S. I live in Florida and have had similar B/S from the service manager here. Take it to the place with the pimpin package in Pasadena. Sounds like a better deal.

I live in New York, but I know what you mean- it seems like every service guy I have to deal with is a total *******- they could least fake being respectful, but instead they jerk you around and act as if they know everything. I HATE THAT!

I took my 99.5 A4 in for servicing and got a piece of crap Mercury Tracer. The thing did not even have power windows. My friend that has a BMW gets a BMW when goes in for service. Heck, I know someone who had had a Mazda Protege and they used to get upgraded to a 626 when they came in.

Totally. They gave the Mercedes owner waiting right next to me a damn Mercedes loaner right in front of me. I felt about 2ft tall when I got my Toyota Corola. Not that there's anything wrong with being 2ft tall and driving a Toyota Carola.

Sorry to hear about your experience. I have been a faithful customer at Commonwealth for service. I bought my first German car there, a 96 Passat Wagon. It developed a problem in the Motronic controling the Transmission. The engine would run fine but the trany would just slip and I'd have to coast to the side of the road in freeway traffic in LA. Mark who is the service manager at Commonwealth was of great assistance during this time. I helped him and VW by continuing to drive the car so that we could duplicate the problem which was intermitant. After about five months and 2 Motronics and 1 Trans later VW gave me some assistance. I had been asking that the dealer buy the car back and put me into another VW or Audi but the owner said no. It was only after Mark talk to the VW service rep and VW of A that I got a nice check from VW. I was so upset at the owner that I told him I'd never buy another car from them. I told Mark I'd always use his service dept. even though the owner gets my money. I went and used the check I got from VW of A as a down payment and bought a 96 Golf for my wife. From another dealer.
I'm sorry your having problems with Mark but I think he may have been having a bad day though I'm not making excues. I think you might try and go back to Mark and make a deal with him that if they fix the control arms and the noise does not go away then you'll pay for the repairs. If the noise does go away then the repairs are covered under warranty. Just a thought.
Also, Commonwealth has a number of Jetta's that they loan out for overnight warranty service. If you are able to make an appointment usually you can get one of those for your loaner. You do have to ask.
Whenever, I've been in the market to purchase a new VW or Audi I always call or go see Mark and ask him If there is anything that I should be aware of before buying and he has always told me the truth. For example, before buying my 2001 A6 2.7t he told me of the Fuel sending unit problem and of the DV valve (I hope I got that right)that goes bad on the engine effecting the turbo boost. I got that information back in Feb this year before I found this form (AudiWorld)which confirmed what he told me.
I hope I've been of help. As anything in life there are usually two sides. I'm not trying to favor one side over the other but only to give you my perspective.
Give him another shot. You might find him more open the next time.

Before I even needed to, I took my car down to Newport Audi (and other brands). It was a Saturday and I had some time, so I thought I would go down and see who I would be dealing with. I also wanted to set an appointment and get some parts on order that were obviously needed.
I talked to the Rolls Royce/Bently service guy who couldn't have made it more clear that I was a peon for buying a car that only cost 30K compared to the ones he dealt with at 10X the cost. I also tried to talk to someone in parts and was told that the guy who dealt with Audi was only in during the week and I should come back M-F 9-5. I left there ready to look for another dealership!
A few days later when I spoke to the Audi service rep I made myself clear that I would not tolerate that kind of treatment. *I gave him names and details*.
I went in a week ago for my 5K service and you would have thought I walked on water! They were so nice I thought I might have been in the wrong place. I was called things I am not used to like "sir" and "Mr." ;-).
They obviously know who I am now and I think I feel good enough that I would recommend them if you are still looking. Just make sure you get started on the right foot.
