Default Just had a run in with an Rx-7 turbo..and I really hope it was either bone stock..or not running ..

right..
I saw him behind me coming from the beach..we cross a one lane bridge and it turns into two lanes..he immediately gets up next to me..then takes off..
I couldn't go anywhere..so i just got in behind him
He started weaving in and out of traffic, so I wasn't about to follow, as there was a decent amount of traffic.
Well i come to a light to make a left..I am the second car..guess who is the first. :-)

So he punches it out of the turn..but can't shake me..Then I get in the other lane..and I slowly creep passed him...WTF? How am I beating an Rx-7 turbo..
I slow down to get back into the right lane, to make a turn.
then we both made a right onto a two lane road heading towards campus..He guns it, and STILL can't shake me..
I got off the gas though, as I was doing well more then the limit. He decided to stay on the gas..So he disappeared..but all in all I was pretty shocked..
So either it was
1)a ricer with a turbo badge (he did have a huge exhaust)
2)it was bone stock
3)it wasn't running right

2 & 3 would probably still require a ****ty or stupid driver...because I should still get beat by a stock rx-7 (i think)
and if it isn't runnign right..WTF would he wanna race?

Default Alot of RX-7's arent as fast as you would think ...

if the car wasnt taken care of it would be more then beatable. My friend bought a 1993 RX-7 he had to spend 5 grand almost to get it to run stock speeds.

Default Which gen RX-7?

I once saw a stock Eclipse GSX beat a gen3 RX-7 at the illegals, but the RX-7 driver was a 16 year old girl and couldn't drive... The RX-7 is not a car that can be driven easily, so it's very possible that the other guy was a bad driver. Or that he wasn't running up to 100%.

BTW, the 3rd gen will run between 13.8-14.2 stock.
