Default Just installed AWE boost gauge, getting LOTS of chatter

Install went ok...only took 2hrs or so, and I was very careful not to miss anything. Took her for a spin...and every time I dip into boost, there is this LOUD chatter coming from the gauge, as the needle flutters.
Anyone else get this from this new gauge from AWE? Know any fixes...or should I just return it and get something else? I wouldn't mind if it was cheap...but I paid $230 for this gauge. I think its an Ormi gauge.

What damper? Kit didn't come with one. Where would it go in the line?

Default It's white, the size of a film canister made of thick PVC-like plastic.

It should go in-line between where you tapped the manifold and the guage. I tucked mine in the ECU box. Should've gotten one with your kit. Good luck

Default Hmm...just checked the parts list from AWE, and its not it there....

Any suggestions where I can buy one? Does a damper affect the accuray of the gauge at all?
Thanks for the info.

Default I got one with the A-pillar kit I ordered a year ago.

Call them, see if it should've been included. If not, I think people have used small, in-line fuel filters....I think. Basically, it is supposed to take the vibrations out of the signal, preventing the gauge from "buzzing." Not having it shouldn't affect the accuracy. Good luck.

Default From the AWE site....

from the A-pillar product writeup on their page:
"Our kit includes a red-backlit VDO gauge (matches the interior lighting almost perfectly!), an A-Pillar pod (black), all tubing and wiring harness, a custom AWE 'buzz eliminator', and complete installation instructions. This is a *complete* kit, not just a gauge and plastic pod. Very easy to install with all instructions included!"

No mention of it for the vent one though...hmmm..cost reduction?

Default Hmm, well I know they changed suppliers...no more VDO gauge

Mine says "AWE" on it in red lettering...supposeldy its a Ormni (sp?) gauge.

Hopefully I can get my hands on one, as its really annoying to drive right now.

Plus...the backlighting is really pink, not red. Oh well.

Default "Omori"

Pink? Impossible! It says right on the website that the backlight is a perfect match! :-)

"The red backlight, white illuminated needle, and face graphics of the gauge match the factory instruments perfectly."

Anyhoo, hope you get it working properly.
