I did the install myself on my 98.5/2.8qm w/ factory sport suspension. I mounted the rear perches on the fourth (lowest) setting. I thought this would give the greatest drop. Was I mistaken? I thought I might get at least .75 inch all the way around. The front looks great with 1 inch drop.
So far I haven't had much time to test it out. My preliminary impression is that they feel quite a bit like the factory sport. Mine had 44k miles and were getting a little soft and probably sagged some. The float is reduced slightly and overall drivability slighty improved. Corning seems to be a little better, will know more after further testing. Personally, I hope that my impressions improve or else I will feel like I wasted my money.

and I got a 2 finger wheel gap. I would have expected more since the springs claim an inch plus the shocks give me more. Oh well, I love the ride and it looks great.

I doubt you'll find anything unusual there. My front and rear dropped 3/4" or more...and settled another 1/4" over the following month.
As far as firmness...I felt that my car drove very similar to stock. After a month or two, it firmed up a bit (or my perceptions changed). If there was any change, it was rather small. If you really decide you're not happy with this set up, H&R springs may suit you better...or coilovers.

When I put Eibachs (with the standard sport shocks) on my 99.5 2.8QSTip the front dropped much more than the rear. The rear did settle some, but the car is still slightly lower in the front.
It seems like the Eibachs look a little different on the 1.8T (on which they lower the rear more) than on the 2.8.
I've heard that there are actually many European versions of the Eibach springs for the A4, depending on the exact engine, tranny, and other options, but the US only gets a couple "generic" ones ... perhaps they don't match the car as well as they could.
