Just a few things I noticed:
The first few times I turned it on it said BOSE on the display along with no sound from the front speakers. Also, my hardwired v60 motorola did not have any sound throught the speakers, even though the display said PHONE. I figured that I would need to recode it to be non-bose with a VAG-COM. And to live without the phone.
Some how on its own the Concert II adapted on its own and changed its own coding to be non-bose and activated the speakers for the v60. Now I have to change to cd changer ground since it is on a different plug (easy fix) and buttons do not light up. (easy fix-tech article)
Sound quality is worlds better that the stock concert.

I didn't notice the 30 min turn off issue. I have read that it is an hour. 1 hour 20 min commute tomorrow will tell.
It does not turn off with the ignition. However I always turn off the radio before I turn off the ignition. There has to be a different way to power the Concert so that it shuts off.
