Is it just me or do you see way less black A4's?

It seems to me that A4 owners seem to favor the color black way less than is the norm for other cars. Black seems to be the most popular color for BMW's and quite a few a Mercedes and countless other cars...I could probably count the number of black A4's I have seen!

You are right. I have seen VERY few black A4s and I see MANY A4s on the road where I live. I am picking up my new '00 1.8TQ in two weeks: black with black interior.

I live in Miami (where the sun wreaks havoc on all black cars) and I see a black A4 once in a blue moon. In addition, I have never even once seen the Pelican blue or the india red

True...
It's mainly silver around here, if you're lucky to see one at all (Toronto, Canada.)
I personally have a brilliant black-on-black 1.8T, but if I see another black one it's usually volcano black.
I think black adds an air of class and sophistication to the A4 like no other color, except maybe navy.

I agree. I bought an ebony pearl effect '00 A4 2.8 last month and have yet to see one like it around Seattle/ Tacoma area or on a recent trip to San Francisco. Lots of silvers, a few laser reds, and one or two santorin blues (very nice color), but no black.
I think the ebony is a classy color - lots of snob appeal, especially with the contrast of clean wheels and the shiny silver trim around the windows on the 2.8. I wish it were easier to keep the paint clean, though. One drive on a drizzly pacific northwest day and the lower half of my car is coated in schmutz.
