Just ordered 2001, Dealer confirmed price increase $550
Well I did it. Ordered a 2001 A4 1.8T today.
Just got off the phone with the dealer and he said that they just received pricing. The price has increased only $550. He was putting the pricing info in the mail for me. I'll post back once I get it next week.
Now the wait begins!!!

My option list (p.s. also $450 extra for metallic paint)
I went with Convenience (now called Premium Package), Sport Package, Light Silver/Opal Gray, Auto/Tip, FWD and Xenons.
Sport steering wheel is now standard as are the side curtain airbags.
I am now reconsidering the Conv since the $550 base increase plus the $450 metallic paint is quite a jump in my opinion.

4 year old car with more SMOG
They're pushing it, they wouldn't get away with that in another year. There are going to be lots of good alternatives to this model coming out. It's in its last year of production, resale is not very promising in my opinion.
