Default Just picked up a 5-gallon container of toluene....

time to clean those fuel injectors and make that engine ROAR! I love this stuff - don't touch, don't breath, don't even think combustible thoughts. Makes my engine really happy though. Only $23!

Default You can run it straight if you want,....

but usually you add about a gallon per tank. It's the equivalent of those octane boosters you buy in the auto parts stores for a forture. Apparently it used to be used as fuel in Formula 1 or Indy or something until they restricted the octane. I don't think there's any downside to running it as concentrated as you'd like. You just do a fuel volume to octane ratio to determine the resulting octane in your tank. Do a search and I'm sure you'll find a ton of info.

Default i wouldnt recommend running it straight. the car will not run well .. if at all.

toulene is rated @ 114 octane. even on the 104 octane .. your car will NOT run right.

just think about what "octane" ratings are.

Default I was under the impression the higher the octane the better...

that's not the case? can you provide a link to an article on this?

Default No, only up to the point where you it doesn't ping/knock

If the engine doesn't ping or knock, you don't need higher octane. Putting 105 Race gas (or a high toluene ratiomix) in a stock engine will be overkill - it will never ping/knock. Even for 93 chips, super high octane won't do anything.
