just ran with an A6 2.7t
(street racing is bad...mmmkay?)
anyway...
i got another confirmation that my dyno numbers and CAPS time are correctly pointing to a BHP of around 260-270.
from a dead stop at a stop light with the random A6 behind me, i launched pretty hard and took off. he followed, and it was on.
we were turning onto a highway extension (rt 7 norwalk ct), with a completely open road ahead of us.
i shut down at 110mph, he flew by...
the whole time he was 1-2 car lengths back, and that gap was maintained. I didnt pull away, but he wasnt gaining either.
no idea what mods he had, but im guessing it was either completely stock...or maybe had an intake or exhaust. i think if he had a chip he wouldve killed me. sound accurate?

well those cars are what 250hp stock. and weighs much more than an s4. so i would say he was stock.
chipped he would have over 300 hp and some weight on you. But i think if you guys were side by side on the launch it would have been dead even. I would say your hp numbers to the crank are somewhat feasible

if he was stock and you are at 265-270bhp, you would have pulled on him
and continued to put length in between you two.
so either he was chipped, or your crank esitmates are off.

he couldve been lightly modded...
here's what the CAPs say...
a stock S4 does a 6.8sec CAPs run...I've done a 6.4sec run, shortly before I dyno'd at 220whp.
either way, im in the ballpark...
...with a stock exhaust and intake
either way, not too shabby for my mods.

Here's the math as I see it
If he was stock and a manual he was (all assumes listed curb weights):
3759/250 = 15.036 lbs/hp
for you to run even you'd be
3241/15.036=215.5hp
if he was auto and stock
3924/250=15.696 lbs/hp
for you to run even you'd be
3241/15.696= 206.5 hp
If he was chipped and manual
3759/300=12.53 lbs/hp
for you to run even you'd be
3241/12.53= 258.7 hp
if he was chipped and auto
3924/300=13.08 lbs/hp
for you to run even you'd be
3241/13.08= 247.8 hp
It boils down to what was his set up ... bear in mind if he was chipped/exhaust and manual his torque would probably have owned you till you got up in the meat of your band.
