K04 not anymore?

Default K04 not anymore?

Hey guys, I was just having a discusion with a friend about turbos and he argued the K04 was not any better than the factory K03 for the 1.8T motor. In fact, he mentioned there was no dyno plot (posted in VW VORTEX) that showed K04´s are better than K03´s.
What´s your opinion?

Default Your friend must be smoking something real good.

he is serious? There is a large gain in hp and tq with a KO4 using proper tuning over a stock KO3.

Default MTM K04 starts and runs as normal, I have not had any reliability issues with...

their setup. Yes it has only been in my car for about 16 months or about 12k miles but the setup has been faultless as a daily driver and will boost to 22psi whenever I want.

Default 47k miles on my K04. Last 5k with aggressive software and about 40 passes at the strip with it

no indications of any problems as of now

on an 01 with a chip (you already have a k03s) you'll put out similar numbers to a Non DBW car running a k04 kit...

the only kit that i haven't seen a dyno for would be the hammer file (a few have run it)... that should put out more (on an 01) ...

false ... k03S on a chip (01) vs k04 (properly tuned on a ndbw) will put out similar #'s

Lots of variables on a dyno. Unless you are going to tell me you saw them dyno'd the same day. If that is the case. I'll stfu : P
