I am a little tight on money so is it possible to just order a NEW K04-15 from mjmturbos and then order new gaskets and leave it in my car with a STOCK ecu program? Is a FPR needed if car is not chipped? also where is the cheapest place to order the K04 gaskets? thanks

I tried it on mine one day for fun, it went straight into limp mode and that was a more aggresive 1Bar GIAC K03 program...the stock software would go into it even quicker, reason is the K04-015 will naturally draw higher boost, your ECU will read this and think something is wrong...
U will need the K04 software to run successful...
And yes a 5 Bar FPR is definately needed, unless u are going to run larger injectors...
Gaskets are cheap, no different than K03 gaskets I believe...
So I'd say wait until you can afford the complete package, the software is expensive on it's own...unless you can get the software on a ECU 2nd hand for cheap...FPR is around $100...

There is a flow difference between a K03 and K04. This means the K04 will flow more air flow at the same boost level the K03 runs which in turn will throw off the Air to fuel ratio. You can run a stock chip that will run at stock boost levels but the g/s at wot will be higher then the ecu is programmed for causing the car to run lean during wot. It might also make the car throw a CEL for short/long term fuel trim since that will also be off by the extra air being sucked in.

you will throw off everything because the ECU is programmed to let so much fuel in. When you add more fuel pressure you make the injectors larger by 15% going from 4bar/5bar which will then make the car run so rich that it will set off the CEL for rich bank since the short and long term fuel trim will be well over the spec range.
The only way to put a K04 on a car or that matter any larger turbo is to do it at the same time you put in a new chip.
