Default Try turning the steering wheel to the left and then to the right while pulling on the key

Sometimes that helps on my moms Caddy.

Default Here is the answer (more)

The key will not come out if the button on the shifter has not popped out ALL the way. Push the lever forward _hard_ into Park and I bet it will pop out. To get the button to move freely do the following:

Turn on the key, move the lever to the Tip mode and then back to Park. I'll bet the button pops out this time and the key will then come out too.

My shifter did this one time in 10K miles. The dealer told me this happens "ocasionally" and they just "fiddle with" the button. That sure sounds like crap to me, but the routine I described freed my button up completely.

Has this happened to other Tip owners?

Default Thanks - it

I pushed the shifter in hard, the button popped out, and then the key. It worked like a charm!! Many thanks and Happy New Year!
