Default ko4 turbo in my 1.8t tiptronic

i dropped in a ko4 upgrade in my 2001 1.8t tiptronic. i had it chipped before and was pretty quick. now it seems its slower than my stock a4 when i first purchased it. it has no boost at all and i floor it and my car goes no where. im wondering if it needs to be tuned again or if my software(GIAC) is faulty. its supposed to be quick and faster...right? help me out with what i can do to gain my full moneys worth. cause we all know i didnt but a pretty penny for my car to become slower.

Default boost leak?

check the hoses from your turbo outlet to your n75, etc. they develop cracks and leaks and will bleed all your boost, making it slow. Just happened to me.

Default Are you in limp mode? Have you VAG'd it yet?

You may have tripped a CEL and it's not visible yet.

Default Do you have K04 software ?

I'd suggest VAG'ing your car man...it could well be in limp mode, especially if your car was running ok previous to the K04 install...if you are still running K03 software then then K04 turbo will naturally draw higher boost and that could throw your car into limp mode...

You should have a 5Bar FPR, and K04 software...a TT BPV should be more than sufficient to hold boost...after that you are looking at a vac leak, MAF, N75 valve...for troubleshooting a VAG-Tool will get you to the route of the problem...

Good luck...

Default if the GIAC chip is faulty.. you wouldnt be able to start your car.

So eliminate the chip.. there is something wrong with your car. What you might want to do is check the wastegate rod on the turbo. See if it is loose then you aren't going to be able to boost. It also may be a hose that is torn. Check everything. What type of BPV do you have as well? Might want to check that for any tears or if it is fully damaged.

Default Go to ROSS-TECH for the Vag-Tool...

For a turbo upgrade you really should have a diag tool on-hand...
