Default From the number you just gave. If I remember correctly...

they are a little diffence then mine, even the kit number where you had it as 1150-5018 my was 1150-5019 on the 2.8. Whatever you do make sure adjust the rebounce before you put it in, don't leave as factory setting.

Default Be happy you got Koni's.

Your konis might not look prettier, but the internals are constructed better than H&Rs (Bilstein shocks). After seeing the internals of all the different shocks out there, I'm a Koni customer for life. BTW, if you didn't already know, your konis are adjustable for rebound dampening, and not bump damping which is all we need

Default Do you have Koni's on your car?

I'm not to into vanity...and it's not like the Koni's look bad or anything...like I said before once you put them together they start looking pretty good...plus who cares what they look like it's all about how they ride ;-)

I got mine for a multitude of reasons...one of them being my strong opinion that there is NO reason a set of coil overs should have to cost $1500 that's just nuts...the only real diff is some threads and a couple of relatively inexpensive aluminium bits...that should not make a ~$800 premium...I suppose they do it because they sell in lower quantities than the standard fixed point suspension.

Do you have and setup advice? The manual for the kit says not do adjust them and to just put them on hot out of the box...almost as if the adjustment is only meant to compensate for wear. Almost everyone I've talked to has said you won't be happy with the ride if you do that cause they'll be way to soft...hmm. Does that adjuster turn and then lock at one end so you can find out how many turns you are from one end to another? I don't think the ones for the A4 click...I'll post a picture of the kit later.

James R.

Default Really... get ahold of TriPoint...

I discussed the Koni setup with the guys there for about a half hour. They have a shock dyno and are quite familiar with everything you can do with both the Koni and H&R kits, since they sell, modify, rebuild, and install all of the above, regularly. They don't mind talking on the phone either...

Default We have different shocks so....

I don't know what you have to do to mechanically adjust the rebound setting. I'm able to adjust mine while it's still on the car. Do you have to remove your coilovers to make the adjustments?

Also, what kind of setup do you want? Street (comfort) or track (performance)? If it's for the track what aspects of handling are you looking to change?

Default Re: We have different shocks so....

Well in one instance it shows the adjustment being done by putting the shock in a vise and twisting the body relative to the bottom end of the shock...confusing cause the picture doesn't make sense relative to what I had in my hands.

In the rear it's pretty straight forward looks like you stick a little thing like a nail in this slot then into a hole and can turn the piston one quarter turn at a time from the side in a sweeping motion. The front on the other hand looks like it has to come off the car to be adjusted.

I'm looking for a compromise between street and track. I had Neuspeed Sports and Neuspeed Bilsteins on my last car and that rode nicely IMHO...so I'm looking for something like that but a little firmer and lower...but still composed enough to go on a date or something like that.

Default LOL! You're like me!

I like to collect toys/upgrades and not install them. I've got an oil pressure gauge, pod, and Neuspeed lower tie bar to install. But the K04 and euro xenons are awesome!

Did I ever tell you about the wheels I won at FallFest? Well, I won a set of Rondo wheels (5x112, 15x7) so I slapped some Kumho 712s on them and use those while I *attempt* to get my RCs coated. That's why I haven't come by for your OEM Sport wheels.

The RCs are stripped down to the bare aluminum and ready to coat.
