Default I don't know which will sound better, but the 2nd one will be easier to live with. You'll maintain

more usable trunk space and be less likely to damage the sub.

Default I disagree, I think the first one leaves you with more usable trunk space.

That large sub hanging the rear deck practically renders the rear half of the trunk useless. You would be surprise how few things will actually fit between the bumper "lip" and the bottom of the sub.

Default depends...I never pile things up high in my trunk...I'd rather have the lower space for snowboards

I guess it depends on the kinds of things you load your trunk with. I'll be hopefully getting my basslink before the aftermarket event and mouinting it like WClark in the lower pic.

bass is non directional. doesn't matter where you mount it.

Default should face down.

I think that it will actually sound a lot better if it is facing down. Bass is emphasized if it has a wall not to far from the face of the speaker. Something with standing waves I believe. Plus you want to be able to stick you boards in the small side of the seats, so people can still sit in the back, and you don't want people to see what you have in the trunk that is making all that muddy sounding bass! Oh yeah and thief's too.

Default I think I agree. I put luggage in my trunk, while it's not enough to fill the trunk it will be

harder to slide it in with the sub hanging there.

Default i mounted mine on a piece of wood and have it bumping through...

the ski sack compartment. if it's too loud or too cold out, i can close the interior arm thingy and it sounds great.

Where is the wood? Just sitting in the middle of the trunk?
