Are these replaced because of the bushings or is the shape or metal of the part defective? If its the bushings, why not just buy some aftermarket stuff like Energy Suspension and replace that part only?

possible. I might be wrong but who knows. I do know that the dealer only replaces the whole shabang. I think that they are just to lazy to mess with replacing bushings. They would rather charge 285 smackaroonies for a control arm than 25 bucks for a simple bushing.
