Default check the drain holes by the battery and on top

of the pollen filter is a plastic piece used to channel the water away
even if you have that gap in there water should not go in because of that

I had the same problem. Quick fix is to spray high-pressure water under the battery to sweep away any debris from the drain holes. You can take the battery out if you wish to clean more thoroughly. If water is collecting in the tray area around your battery then this is your problem. Taking curves very fast sloshes all the water quickly from the area also, works until rains again.
Good luck

Default Join the club...mutual problem solving at its best.

I've had that same problem for about 6 months now. I've been managing it so there's no damage, but it is a PITA. I'm driving around right now without the passenger knee bolster/glove box so I can pinpoint the problem. The lower molding being loose isn't the problem, that's just a cover. I've replaced my HVAC air filter housing (had to buy a new lower housing just to get the new gasket in the picture) and it still leaks. I've run a small cable down the moonroof front drain plus. Still leaks. The leak definately comes from high up in the firewall. I think it's the windshield but it's really difficult to get the damn glass guys to own up to it. I have to be able to prove it to them.

Do me a favor and try this (yourself a favor too I hope). Open your glove box and push in on both sides to release the stops. Pull it down all the way, out of the piston assembly. That big plastic thing behind it is your HVAC fan housing. Work your hand up above that and feel the padding. Is it wet up there? Mine is. That padding is directly below the windshield and behind the opening I show in the picutures, so it leads me to believe the leak is, at best, not coming below that.

Have you had your windshield replaced?

Default That blows. My sunroof is stuck in vent and it never leaks!

It hardly rains here (AZ), but last week my car sat outside during 3 days of rain and not a single drop leaked into the cabin despite my sunroof being stuck in the vent position. It wasn't hurricaning or anything, but the sucker was dry - and not stuffy either

Default I think you have the wrong concept of leak...

If your drains are clear you shouldn't have a problem whether your roof is cracked open or not (not accounting for water that came in through the open roof). The leak from the sunroof comes from water running down the A-Pillar or from a backup at the bottom door (where the drain hose drains). The leak from up top would occur if the water doesn't run down the hose but instead leaked around it and ran down inside the frame.
The thing with that is that the hose ends at the lower door frame (open your front door and look). My leak is way above that.

Default Different scenario, just commenting on how no water gets inside

despite the 3" crack in the roof. I had no idea the cars could leak that bad. That's sunny phx for you. some people worry about rain and I worry about sun.
