I was out tonight and someone told me my seats weren't leather. Now, the dealer said they were leather. And the car sure smells like leather when it gets hot. I have a e-brake handle that has leather-like stuff on it, and the door panels as well.
Is there a surefire way to tell? I'm paranoid now.

so i was concerned that i might have the textured vinyl.
i think it's leather though. it's definitely not perforated.

but seriously, try putting leather conditioner on it. Freshly cleaned leather is a little tacky. While the leatherette doesn't really feel any different once you wipe the conditioner off.

leathette were options on earlier model A4's. Not sure though, but I had a 96 2.8 a4 with leatherette.
