I found a replacement cover for a decent price.. but how about the install??

Is there a DIY ? (..couldn't find it)
-special tools?

How much does it generally cost to HAVE it fitted for you?

You'll need a bullring puller.

Default Should the seat cushion (or whole seat) come out? Or can it be done mounted?

I haven't inspected the area to see it the cushion would come out easy.. but assume the seat will need to be removed (Is this correct?)

Default You have to take it out ,put down towels or tarp somewhere and work on bottom..

remove the hogrings with cutters and/or twist them open with two pairs of Visegrips. A heat gun or hairdrier is good if doing vinyl to get it smooth if its been folded . Stretch it tightly so that its smooth and go to work clamping the cover with hogrings to the frame.

Default I did this on my E28 M5 last year. Saved a ton of $$- ...

Granted this write up is for a BMW but the upholstering part might help at least in theory.<ul><li><a href="http://home.comcast.net/~bhz1/M5seats/home.htm">write up</a></li></ul>
