Default Leatherette vs. Cloth...more discussion please

For many practical reasons I prefer the Leatherette but I think the cloth is more comfortable. (This is a very basic impression form sitting in cars at the dealer)
Also, does anyone know if the sports seats are available in both. The new Onyx Ambition is really something too
BMW and MB have always only offered "vinyl" as an
option to cloth an thier entry level models as well. I had a close look at the Onyx Leatherette on the Audi and found it to be of a very high quality. I didn't care for it in the lighter colours though but I'm not even that fussy on those in the real leather. I also have kids and my job requires me to live on the road at times so its very practicle for me.

Default Warning:Cloth wears better than leatherette(more)

i am 1996 with leatherette.
On the driver's side my butt (albeit a big butt) has worn the leatherette smooth, and the color has changed to an amorphous plastic look.
I have looked at a good sampling of the 1996 with cloth, and they look brand new.
as i said before as well:
1/ hot in summer-forget shorts unless u have the recaro circulating fans.
2/ cold in winter-crank up thoses seat heaters, and freeze for the first minute!
3/ the real leather seats are not vented as the leatherette--again shorts will yield sweaty thighs.
4/ I agree that leather/ette is supper easy to clean. But don't forget your lexol et al to preserve the surface.
5/ i can't STAND the idea of fake leather in a near luxury vehicle. Would u get fake wood?
really your choises are leather or cloth, and next time i think i am going cloth (sport seats here i come!!)
