Default Leg Cooker

I have a 98 A4 and it seems to be a lot of heat being vented into the cabin right onto my legs from the engine bay. I know most cars do this (vent air this way for some heat) but is there a way to close the vents? Does anyone else have this happen? Although this will be nice when the weather starts to get cool.

Default It's just the heat from the engine/exhaust heating up the sheet metal...

and the heater core bleeding heat into the dash.

Default I get that too. I've tried turning on the climate control, hitting recirc, and then "Off"

but I still get warm air venting in from somewhere.

That's what I figured, I guess I'll just have to live w/ it.
