on my dirt track car. It allows the car to rev and decrease revs quicker. And it definately allows more hp. My flywheel and clutch weighed 26lbs. stock. I went to a setup that weighs 12lbs. and can tell a dramatic difference.
If you try one on your Audi, let us know how it works out. I might want to put one on mine.

The lighter flywheel will spin up faster, and revs will also fall off faster. Note that a lighter flywheel has no effect what so ever on the amount of power produced by the engine. The perceived "power gain" is really a reduction in the amount of power lost through drive line inefficiencies.
A lighter flywheel could cause problems though, if it's too light the engine may stall more often (less angular momentum to keep it running at idle) particularly when staring on hills. There's a story of one instance where someone's flywheel was so light that they could stall their car at idle just by lowering all four windows at the same time. That might be an Audiworld urban legend but it does illustrate the need for caution.

...when VW specialties (SoCal) installed my AWE clutch Ron there mentioned that the actual flywheels and clutches are made in LA. The tuner shops just market them.
BTW, some reason you wouldn't consider AWE? Pretty happy with mine.
