Default Looking for rear brake caliper piston tool...

I posted a help thing a few days ago and Dave Griswold mentioned it was possible to "rent" the tool from Autozone for $35.

Do you know if it's all Autozone's? I need it asap, so I dun wanna order off the internet...

Does anyone know where I can get it in Michigan? (Ann Arbor area)

i went to 2 today... and both didn't have the tool.

the second one made me not wanna get it from autozone... that *****!

me: "hi, i'm looking for the brake caliper piston tool for an audi/vw. i'm trying to replace my rear brake pads. i heard autozone carries them."
employee: "you were told wrong!"
me: "excuse me?"
employee: "we don't carry it... unless you drive a ford."

Default hrm. well, if you do find one at another local autozone

be sure to bring the tool back to that second autozone and bludgeon that redneck upside the head with it.

Default Don't know what to tell you...

people here have rented the tool from autozone without issues. I have a kit that has adaptors so it will fit a variety of cars. My guess is autozone rents the same kit with all the adaptors. So ask to see the "Ford Caliper Tool". If you see a bunch of piston adaptors, more than likely one of them will work.

Rather than running from shop to shop, just call them and save yourself some trouble. Autozone has a store locator on their website, displays addresses, maps, and phone numbers.

Default just buy one of those little cubes for 5 bucks

they work just fine you just have to put a little muscle into pushing it while you turn.
