Default looking to upgrade front brakes.....

i still have the stock brakes on my 99 A4 and i know the next easiest upgrade would be A8 rotors and TT carriers, and then after that would be porsche or stoptech brakes. i've heard that S4 brakes are a direct fit on B6 A4's but not on B5's, what is the reason that S4 front brakes won't work from a B5 s4 to a B5 A4?

Default Just do the A8 kit upfront and S4/A6 in the rear.

then later on, find a set of porsche calipers that will fit, put those on up front and you are good to go.

Default do you track the car, or do you plan on doing so?

if so, then go with a BBK like Stoptech or Brembo. If not, then what BeeeJ said is a good way to go.

Default Nice winter wheels...

Like I told you I am getting Stoptechs

My Boxster/A8 set-up(calipers, rotors, pads, lines, carriers:used only 8 months) will be for sale by the end of August.

It might be out of your price range for $700 though

Default I think BeeeJ is right on even if you track it. (I still have the stock rears)

With decent pads and fluid, I have never had a problem.

Default yeah i think im gonna take it one step at a time...

do the tt carriers and a8 rotors first and then get the porsche calipers eventually...

also, do you know where i can get just one of those dunlop m2 tires? three of them seem to have plenty of tread depth but one of them has almost none left...

Default A couple notes...

Porsche Calipers will require new caliper carriers

I would get SS lines and upgrade fluid while your at it

Default They stopped making M2s, replaced by M3

I'll be putting M3s on my new winter wheels
