It looks like APR Stage3 handily beats Stage3+ up to 3750RPM...

Don't underestimate the PES kit so much. Those T-28s are beasts.
Have you been in all said options you have talked about? Stage 3, Stage 3+, PES? If yes, ignore this post.

yeah i did it on pump gas. with 2.5" exhaust and a functioning cat.
you dont want to see me bust out the race gas ;-)
the highest pump gas dyno i have seen other then mine is A4Rob on AZ who did 237whp on 93 octane.

I dont remember what octane he was running.
i want to say 93 pump, but im not very certain of that. I do remember that he was running his 1.5 bar, which makes me think it was on pump. It was just a few weeks back, sometime in late november when he did the run.

boost controller or none? Anything with basically bypasses the essense of chip tuning...
depending on how high it's set of course.
But a couple of friends A4's put down 280whp with stage III and 100 octane (or one of them with a mix of 100 and maybe 2 gallons 91). Other pertinent mod was the HKS intakes, but other than that, pretty much out of the box package. So I think the kits are fairly comparable. It's nice to know there are larger turbo options now though.
I see a GT2871R future on our 225 TT early next year.

i make on pump gas what APR cars make on race gas. how is the software better?
and with my new updated tune, the car idles like a stock car in every situation ( i even have a LWFW).
as for the turbo i think there are more then a few people that were pretty bent when they came to find that the GT28R is smaller then the T28, has less top end and MOST importantly cannot be rebuilt.
nevertheless maybe i am biased with my custom GIAC sauce, i just know what the PES can really do :-D

APR specs ~280 crank and PES spec'd ~270 crank. IMO anyone who is running a stock internals 1.8t
with 288+ all wheel HP on pump gas is flirting with a disaster. That's in the 370hp crank range. I'd hate to be the owner of a 1.8t that makes that much power and was any weaker than in the top 10 percentile of balance, tolerence and strength.
It's one thing to have a dyno queen that makes peaks in that range ... a whole nother ballgame for a daily that makes that much power and has good area under the curve....
