Just did mine, and if anything it is quieter...
I wonder if you have something out of place and rubbing. Mine was also the ECS kit. A quick way to figure out where the sound is coming from is to use a tube, stick one end in your ear, and use the other to go looking for the noise (rev it, be careful not to get it caught in anything).
