Low coolant and oil level problem

I got my 2001 2.8 QMS at the end of July. At the end of September I noticed that my oil level and coolant levels were low, at the minimum mark or below. I took it in to the dealer to get topped off and they filled the coolant to the max line and topped off my oil. Tonight I went to check my fluids again and noticed that my coolant was below the minimum line and my oil is just above the lower orange marker. What's going on? I'm more concerned about my coolant level. Should there be that much of a discrepancy in the level since the beginning of the month?

I ate a ton of oil for the first like 15K. The oil they put in in the first fill is aledgedly different in some way - if you replace it with, say, a good synthetic too early you just end up with delayed valve seat-in and keep eating oil for tool long. Well I flat ran out of oil in the first interval (!) got the red warning light and had to put some more in. It was forever before I stopped eating oil. All's well now (even with my PES...)
I wouldn't panic about your oil. And take it from me, the car will keep going until the oil is BELOW the dip stick, there's still barely enough to keep the pump running. Just keep and eye on it for the first six months or so.
The coolant is more vexing. The stuff really expands and contracts with temperature. But that's what the tank is for. If you are leaking THAT much you should have some indication - pools perhaps.
