I have the same problem again.. the light flashed 3 times while I was driving and went off. It came on again today (this time it stayed on for a few secs) and went off.

I am at 121K now..about 4k miles since the fix.

Could it be the same problem?

Default Year? Engine? If AEB, I generally replace the whole oil pump.
For the amount of effort involved and the cost of the pump, it's well worth it.

did you replace the cam chain tensioner? if not. fail time.

1997 A41.8T.. pump was replaced as well - nt
