Default Lower boost from GIAC chip....could it be the cold weather?

I don't know how long this has been happening for, but I just kinda noticed it today on my ride home from work, but my boost is only at like 10-12psi, and I know it won't hold full boost in 1st or 2nd for very long, but it used to be able to hold it for a least a little while in 3rd-5th, now I tried punching it most of the way through the RPM's in 3rd gear and it won't even hit 15+psi. Is this because of the cold weather, or a boost leak somewhere, or maybe my chip needs an upgrade. Does anyone know if an upgrade is available for a '97 A4. Any help or input would be great. TIA.

Default in the cold the turbo needs to do less work to generate the same/more power

the ECU will dial back boost accordingly. normal.

Default I wonder if it has anything to do with maf readings. Since the air is colder

you will get higher g/s readings at even a lower boost level.

Default That's because you're moving the same g/s at the lower boost level

That's the whole point of using a MAF - its readings are temperature and boost independent.

Default That is why I said that maybe the ECU has a set g/s reading for the boost level it is requesting

and if that g/s is reached it holds the boost down to stay at that g/s level.

I use a chip and bc, which allows me to run the same boost level all the time. This means my g/s jump up alot when it gets colder which also means I have a much larger gain in power at that time.

Default g/s is Grams per second

A k03 and K04 cant hold a constant boost to redline, it is only good to 5000 rpms before it hits full spool and the boost level will then start to drop off.
