Lower radiator hose blew off today.

Lower radiator hose blew off today.
I was driving to the gym and as soon as I parked and got out, I heard a spllaaaaaassshhhh. I turned around, and saw a river of coolant coming from my passenger side radiator hose. Two weeks ago my car started vibrating/shaking, and the mechanic said my driveshaft u-joints have gone bad (I will post about this later, as I have several questions). But I believe the vibrating shuddering caused the front rad hose to pop off. Is there something I can do to get around the black plastic end of the hose? I noticed after I did my t-stat 3 months ago that it didn't seem like the best method to connect the hose to the rad. Is there anyway I can use just a regular hose clamp? It is in the parking lot of the rec center and I need to fix it tonight so I can get it out of there. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks.

If re-installed properly, the lower rad hose won't just pop off.
Sorry, I gotta go with whomever touched it last is at fault... :-) That fitting is a PITA, I know, but when attached properly and with the clip--it isn't going anywhere. As for replacing it with a regular clamp, I don't know....you have a 2.8 I see. You couldn't do it on a 1.8T though.

What andy said.
Either the hose blew (unlikely) or you didn't install it correctly in the first place. Doing this in the dark probably isn't the best way to get the hose in there correctly...so double check the hose (and clip) in the daylight.

OK, got the hose put on correctly.
I heard the and saw the U clip drop into the slots. I know I didn't spend this much time doing it the last time I put it on, so I must have not gotten it to seat properly.
Thanks
Thanks
