I'm wanting to lower the stock suspension on my 2001 A4 2.8 quattro by a little bit in order to put on 18" wheels. My question is should I just get new springs either from H&R or Eibach, or should I get a whole shock and spring set, Koni has a cheap threaded suspension kit, but it is still about $750 more than just the springs.
If I go with just the springs and 18" wheels, will I see an improvement in handling and cornering?
Thanks!

If you get a stiff spring, your shocks will die.
Once you're getting a spring/shock combo, you might as well do a coilover setup.
Also, if you want better handling, look at upgrading sway bars as well.
Finally, you don't technically need to change the suspension at all to run 18s.

any suggestions for non stiff springs that can be used? I'm just wanting to improve the car a little for daily driving and to make it a little more appealing to the eye by adding larger wheels.
Yes I can technically add larger wheels to the stock height but it will be pretty funny looking...
