In a previous post, I mentioned I had adapted a set of forged aluminum '98 Mercedes CLK320 wheels to fit my A4 and was using them with a set of 225/50-16 Hoosier tires for autocrossing.
At the event on Sunday, someone took a photo of my car with the wheels mounted. While I didn't buy them for how they look -- and initially didn't think they look all that great -- they've started to grow on me and I'm seriously considering using my second set as my street wheels (assuming, of course, that I can figure out how to replace the center caps with some that don't have a "three-pointed star" molded into them!)
BTW, as pictured, each wheel/tire combo weighs just over 34 lbs, which is noticeably lighter than the OEM wheel and tire combo at 41 lbs and my 8x18 OZ Vela II and tire combo at 46 lbs (let alone my previous autocross setup of an 8x17 Compomotive MO with a 245/40-17 tire at 49lbs!).
For the money -- I paid a whopping $52.50 for the set on eBay, plus another $15 for a 9/16 drill bit to enlarge the bolt holes and ~$26 for a set of hubcentric rings from Pure MS -- there's no better value in wheels to be found!

that's pretty cool that you were able to pick them up so cheap! Bet that seller was kicking himself for not putting a reserve on those puppies

If I were in need of a set of wheels, I'd probably check some of those out. But I got a set of OZ SLs as my track/autox rims, my Ronals and a set of OEM 16"... so I think I'm good for now
I got my OEMs w/ snow tires on 'em sitting at my parents house collecting dust since I don't have much use for snow tires in VA. All seasons are almost overkill for the kind of snow we get down here ![Wink](https://www.audiworld.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)
I'm kinda curious if the wheels from my cousin's old E4matic is the same lug pattern. He has a set of 15" wheels sitting around. Would make a great set of autox/track wheels for him

i've been working on him, but he won't go out with the contis he has on the car right now. Also keeps saying he doesn't have enough power... lol. Def need to teach him a few things, too bad he doesn't live closer so I can harass him more

They do work really well on short courses, and most of the courses here are short. I'll be running on a longer, faster course at the end of this month so we'll see how they do.
I'm running the "eurosport" springs, stock shocks, and a 19mm neuspeed rear sway for now.
