Finished wiring my EGT and oil pressure gauge for power and the senders, as well as taking the console out to flush mount my ipod. These are progress pics, as I've not quite finished making the mount for the ipod. It's going to be very similar to skabaru's, FWIW. So, here are some pics...

the only thing i don't like is the ipod location. i've seen skabaru's install, and although it looks nice, i think it's too far to glance and i don't like to keep my eyes off the road that long. i plan on making some kind of mount and placing it to the right of the stock HU. but everything looks good man, keep it up.

what headunit is that, and hows the sound quality???. i was planning to do something similar except with my laptop. but i was worried the internal sound card of the laptop wouldn't be good enough. so how does it sound? does it sound like a cd?

Worked like a champ. I just moved it into the ashtray last week and ran the remote into the spot where the cheesy Audi USA Nav controls would go. I plan on building a custom remote that I can put into one of my blank switches.

Havent gotten quite there yet. The wife loves it in the ashtray, she hates clutter

I have an excelon x869 in my current car. I am planning on getting my Audi soon, and want to keep using my current headunit in it. Any information on how you rigged up that surround for the HU?
