Might be trading my '96 2.8 for a '98 2.8... any reasons not to?

and he doesn't have any newer ones on the lot. I'm not to concerned with Xenons anyway, they are nice but I can live without them and I can add some later on. I'm just thinking that the '98s are newer and just think about all that supercharger potential!!! Plus he has a black one and a silver to choose from and since i have silver already, i might go black... depends on which one is in better shape. I'm in this for the long haul, that's why i'd like to get a newer model.

He does a full conversion on 12v 2.8's like your '96 - ported valve heads, headers, exhaust, etc. - that gives it 230+ HP. You're not going to get that kind of power out of a '98 30v no matter what mods you do to it.
His number is (248) 944-3228.
Speed & Horsepower are always good reasons.

My local dealer friend just got in two '98 A4 2.8 Quattros completely loaded (just like my '96). How much better, if at all, are the '98 models compared to the '96? Other than the newer engine and interior differences, is there anything else I should expect different?
