If its you, send me some info on a hood that pulls air thru rad/IC and a trunk lid that has a real spoiler, or a spoiler that has some DF. Will want a full carbon frame on them, not flimsy stuff. May have found someone who wants me to do Time Attack on a serious money level. He may even want me to build 2-3 more full engines like mine! He has enthusiam and a few 100K$ to burn. This could get interesting if I can put up with it all, dont really have the time, but he is tempting me, has a US/German business and thinks it might be good advertising (haha - also a good way to spend his money).

2 years. I could use a hood. (and more power)
I plan to do the VIR one (Oct. 4-5), if full course, and probably the Summit Point, Shenandoah one again (Aug 16-17). I need to get my Stoptechs repaired, then I'm good to go, as the car is now.
I hope more Audis show up. I've been the only one, except for the 034 car that did them on the west coast.

http://www.redlinetimeattack.com</a

If he does, we are talking tube frame, new engines/trannys/CF brakes and wheels, etc.. It does involve using my car, and I'm not likely to do that unless he buys it from me - I will be asking 100k$ - so it is doubtful. He would have to farm the engine building out as I will not do it again, but he would have a good pattern if he bought mine. Who knows. It is not something I really want to do at my age, too much work and I get what I need from my car now w/o time attack. He is a friends nephew, and I may just explain what a trap something like this is - especially when there isnt even any money in it!

I just want parts to go faster and maintain the car, and he can slap whatever name/logo he wants onto the car... just like AWE and Induktion do for me currently.
A $1000 hood would be enough.

He is talking trailer/every event/dedicated mechanic/ whole 9 yards. If I didnt know for a fact that he pisses money away like I do urine I would say he was pulling my leg. He is a Porsche nut and I pulled his 997TT pretty badly one day and then took him over Hawks Nest at a hi rate of speed and he hasnt stopped talking about it since. He also wants me to drive and oversee all of the effort, and I am at a place where all I want to do is retire, not be a race gypsy. #1 I dont have the reaction times or nerves to go for 10/10's anymore. It is so much more fun just to play, and he wants it to be serious.
He has a little Cayman S he has put about 15k$ into the suspension but with the 3.4L engine it is a bit gutless, but handles on rails, best handling car I have ever driven. I want him to let me put a MAHLE stroker kit to take him to 3.8L and 400hp/400tq. I think that would be faster than anything we can do with the A4 and it will be cheaper and wouldnt be nearly as hard to keep on the track (upkeep wise). I have heard you could get them down to 2600lbs fairly easy. Doesnt that sound like it would be faster than a ~550hp A4 weighing 3000lbs. Maybe not (not) as fast in straight line, but not far off and it could be extremely rapid in and out of the curves.

You build the car, he pays for, and I'll race it. That Cayman would walk a built A4 sans the 034 car.
I'm no Chip Herr, but I run on his old tires![Wink](https://www.audiworld.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)

I like your idea, but the thought of building 3-4 more of those engines gives me hives. There was soooo much measurement and fine work before it all fit together. We will see, since I really like the guy and his family, I would like to see him forget it, but if he insists on spraying me with money, who knows?
